The record for memorising Pi was achieved by Chao Lu (China) who recited Pi from memory to 67,890 places, at the Northwest A&F University, Shaanxi province, China, on 20 November 2005. Chao Lu, a chemistry student, attempted the record after practising for 4 years. The attempt lasted 24 hrs 4 min and was recorded on 26 video tapes. Each pizza contained a 14-ounce (396 g) 12-inch (30 cm) base, between 4.5 and 6 oz (127 to 170 g) of sauce and 8 to 10 oz (226 to 283 g) of cheese. 206 out of 215 pizzas were deemed acceptable by the judges.
