Tinned pea eating – 3 mins

Mat Hand (UK) ate 211 individual cold tinned peas in 3 minutes using a cocktail stick at the NOW art festival, Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham, UK on 8 November 2001. The record attempt took place at the Nottingham Trent University as part of the NOW arts festival. Matt also attempted the record for the most grapes eaten in 3 minutes. He regards the concept of record breaking as ‘performance art’.

Tightrope walking (unsupported)- Greatest distance

The greatest distance for an unsupported tightrope walk is 130 metres (429 feet) and was achieved by Bello Nock (USA) across a wire attached to poles onboard Royal Caribbean International’s ‘Majesty of the Seas’ cruise ship, in Coco Bay, Bahamas, USA, on 10 November 2010. The steepest tightrope walked on had an angle of inclination of 36 degrees and was achieved by Aisikaier Wubulikasimu (China) and Maurizio Zavatta (Italy) in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China, on 28 November 2011. It was an outdoor attempt for the Tv show CCTV-Guinness World Records Special 2011.

Tightrope walking – greatest distance in 24 hours

The greatest distance walked along a tightrope in 24 hours is 15.68 km (9.74 miles) and was achieved by Joey Kelly (Germany) on the set of RTL Spendenmarathon at MMC studios in Hürth, Germany, on 18-19 November 2010 in celebration of Guinness World Records Day 2010. The tightest parallel park is 14 cm (5.51 in) and was achieved by Ronny Wechselberger aka Ronny C’ Rock (Germany), at Flugplatz Kindel in Eisenach, Germany, on 18 June 2012. The feat was recorded for the TV show GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS – Wir holen den Rekord nach Deutschland, aired on RTL2 (Germany). Treadmill, Distance run in 24 hours, female

The greatest distance travelled on a treadmill in 24 hours by a woman is 247.2 km (153.6 miles) by Edit Berces (Hungary) at the Eurocentre shopping mall, Budapest, Hungary on 8-9 March 2004. She also broke the record for the fastest 100 km and 100 miles. This 24 hour record surpasses the male record and thus is the overall record for an individual.

Treadmill, Distance run in 24 hours – team (female)

The greatest distance run on a treadmill in 24 hours by a team of 12 women is 317.66 km (197.38 miles) and was achieved at Lashkagar Forward Operating Base, Helmand Province, Afghanistan, from 11 to 12 June 2009. The 12 runners were members of the Army, Royal Air Force and Civil Service, deployed on Operation Herrick 10. The greatest distance run on a treadmill in 24 hours by a mixed team is 437.7 km (271.97 miles) by the members of Forest School (UK) at the Forest School in London, UK, on 4 July to 5 July 2012. The participants included Noel Thatcher, John Macnamara, Edward Watson, Claire Risk, Ben Adams, Wayne Bishop, Mark Clark, Ian Baldwin, Emma Ramsay, Eric Palmer, John “Jack” Skerritt and Tom Arnold.
