Longest journey by canoe (kayak) solo

The longest journey by canoe or kayak was made by Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton (UK) who paddled 2010 miles (3234.79 km) from the confluence of the Rio Maranon and Rio Ucayali, Peru to St. John in the Amazon Delta, Brazil from 20 January to 28 February 2010 in aid of Sport Relief. Helen paddled in a kayak called the Anne Marie – she is also thought to be the first woman to paddle down the Amazon.

Longest journey swimming

The longest journey swimming is 5,268 km (3273.38 miles) and was achieved by Martin Strel (Slovenia) who swam the entire length of the Amazon River, Peru/Brazil, from 1 February to 8 April 2007. Martin swam as little as 9 kilometres one day and as much as 127 kilometres on one day as he swam the length of the river in 67 days. He started in Atalaya, Peru and finished in Belem, Brazil.

Longest surfboard, rideable

The record for the longest surfboard rideable by one person is 9.42 m (30 ft 10 in) and was achieved by Rico De Souza (Brasil) at Solemar Beach, Espirito Santo, Brazil, on 12 June 2009. The surfboard is called “Jamanta”, which is Portuguese slang for “Juggernaut”.

Longest time breath held voluntarily (female)

The longest time to hold the breath underwater is 18 min 32.59 sec and was achieved by Karoline Mariechen Meyer (Brazil) at the Racer Academy swimming pool, Florianopolis, Brazil, on 10 July 2009. Karoline is a professional freediver who trained for four months to try and break the record. Prior to the attempt she inhaled oxygen for 24 minutes.

Longest windsurfing journey

The longest windsurfing journey was 8,120 km (5,045 miles) by Flavio Jardim and Diogo Guerreiro (both Brazil) who travelled from Chui to Oiapoque on the Brazillian Coast between 17 May 2004 – 18 July 2005 as part of the Blue Destination Expedition. The Blue Destination Expedition is a project to raise awareness about sustainable development amongst children. some good pics.

Most couples kissing simultaneously

The most people kissing simultaneously is 13,577 pairs and was achieved by MB Produções (Brazil) during Carnafacul 2014 in São Paulo, Brazil on 17 May 2014. The event was held in the Parque Anhembi Sambadromo one of the largest event spaces in Latin America and the record attempt took place after the concert from one of the main acts Ivete Sangalo.

Most durable golf club employee

The most durable golf club employee is Raymundo Coelho (Brazil), who began work at Gavea Golf and Country Club, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in January 1935, providing upkeep and maintenance of the course, and he continues at the club, now as an instructional professional, 70 years later.

Most goals scored by a goalkeeper

Better known for scoring goals than saving them, São Paulo FC’s goalkeeper Rogério Ceni (both Brazil) netted his 100th career goal on 27 March 2011. The record-breaking strike was a long-range free kick that earned his side a 2–1 win over their fiercest rivals, Corinthians. Rogério has played for São Paulo since 1997 and his unusually prolific goal-scoring record is down to the fact that he regularly takes free kicks and penalties for his club.

The most items auctioned in 24 hours is 610 and was achieved by Mauro Zukerman (Brazil) from Zukerman Leilões, auctioning cars and motorbikes that had been repossessed by this traffic department of Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 14 January 2010. Mauro Zukerman auctioned second hand cars and motorbikes for this record. He completed the auction in 5 hr 57 min. He broke the previous record (601 items) in 5 hr 44 min.
