First UFO sighting by a pilot

The world´s earliest sighting of a UFO by a pilot occurred on 31 January 1916, when a British pilot near Rochford, Essex, reported seeing a row of lights, resembling the lighted windows on a train carriage, that rose up into the sky and disappeared.

First unbeaten football Premier League season

In the Premier League season of 2003/04, Arsenal FC were unbeaten in all 38 games, winning 26, drawing 12, losing none. In the process they scored 73 goals and conceded 26, failing to score on only four occasions. First use of infrared equipment in battle

The earliest use of infrared technology in battle was during World War II (1939-45). Electric sniperscopes were mounted on top of rifles and converted infrared light of enemy soldiers into visible light, enabling the shooter to fire accurately in darkness. Three hundred of these sniperscopes were shipped to the Pacific, but were used very little in battles against the Japanese. First use of forensic gait analysis evidence in court

The first time that forensic gait analysis (the analysis of a person’s style of walking as a method of identification) has been admissible as evidence in criminal law occurred in the case of R- v – Saunders at The Old Bailey Central Criminal Court, London, UK on 12 July 2000. First use of PlayStations as military training equipment

The British Royal Navy is the first service organization to use Sony PlayStations for military use. Marine engineering technicians have been provided with the PlayStations to enable them to use study packages produced by the Maritime Warfare School at HMS Collingwood, Fareham, UK. So far, the school has bought 230 consoles, in recognition of the arrival of a generation that no longer naturally studies from books.
