The longest human dog tunnel involved 1,019 people and two dogs in an event organised by the North Northumberland Dog Training Club at the Northumberland County Show, Northumberland, UK, on 25 May 2009. Dogs that were successful: Elsa owned by Jim Wright & Shadow owned by Megan Young.
The longest dog lead was made by Pedigree, a dog food company, at their exhibition stand at the Crufts dog show in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK, between 10 and 13 March 2005, and when completed the leather lead measured 686 m (2,250 ft) in length.
The longest distance vaulted between two objects is 2.35 m (7 ft 8 in) and was achieved by Sam Parham (UK) at Basingstoke Active Life Centre, Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK, on 8 September 2010. Sam is a member of the parkour team, 3Run. He vaulted over two gymnastic vaults.
The longest drinks can line consisted of 106,300 cans and was constructed by participants from Bridge FM Radio LTD and Bridgend County Borough Council (both UK) at the Bridgend Recreation Centre, Glamorgan County, Wales, on 26 November 2009. The amount of cans lined up was to correspond with Bridge FM’s frequency (106.3 FM). They started at 08.47 and finished on 21.57 on the same day. Marina Hoey (UK), gave birth to Sam on 22 May 2002 at the Royal-Jubilee Maternity Service, Belfast, after an ectopic pregnancy of 233 days (33rd week). An ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy resulting from gestation other than in the uterus) occurs in 1:100-400 and accounts for 15% of maternal deaths. Marina’s orginal due date was 8 July 2002.
On 6 November 2001, Fergus Muir (UK) successfully sank a putt measuring 125 y (114.3 m) on the Eden Course at St Andrews Links, Scotland, UK. The shot was made using hickory shafted putter directly from the tee on the 5th hole.
The longest group drum roll is 64 hr 27 min 59 sec and was achieved by the Corps of Drums of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Band Service (UK) at the Tower of London, London, UK, on 3 May 2014. Forty members of the Corps of Drums of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Band Service took it in turns to drum on the same single snare drum. The longest handshake relay consisted of 1,238 participants and was achieved by Merseyside Scouts (UK), in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK, on 12 May 2013. The first handshake in the relay was done by Bear Grylls.
Tony Collins (UK) spent 77 hr 30 min on a hospital trolley in a corridor at Princess Margaret Hospital, Swindon, Wiltshire, UK, from 24-27 February 2001 before he was admitted to a bed. A diabetic, he was suffering with a virus.
The longest ever horizontal power slide in a car lasted 2 hours 11 min 18 sec and was performed by Simon de Banke (UK) on 29 July 2001 at the MIRA Proving Ground, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK. Simon was driving a standard Subaru Impreza WRX 2001. The road surface was Bridgeport pebbles, which, when wet, are designed to have similar handling charateristics to compacted snow.
