The longest curly wurly that was stretched in three minutes is 285.5 cm (9 ft 4 in) and was achieved by Tracy Jane Sullivan (UK), at the Cheese and Grain during the Frome Chocolate Festival, in Somerset, UK, on 20 November 2011. The longest crochet chain made whilst running a marathon is 139.4 m (457.35 ft) and was achieved by Susie Hewer (UK) at the 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon in London, UK, on 13 April 2014. Susie finished in a time of 5 hr 40m 47 sec and averaged an astounding 5.3 metres per mile in beating her own record that she set back at the 2010 London Marathon. The longest distance marathon pool rescue was 30,000 m (98,425 ft) by members of the Frinton and Walton Swimming Pool Lifeguard Team (UK) at Frinton and Walton Swimming Pool in Walton on the Naze, UK, on 8 July 2011. The event consisted of 23 team members, each towing a manikin heavier than 40 lb (18.14 kg) in continuous legs along a 25-m pool. Longest distance run three legged in 12 hours

The longest distance run three legged in 12 hours is 68.8 km (42.75 miles) and was achieved by Simon Ashton and Gary Hooson (both UK), in Plymouth, Devon, UK, on 26 July 2011. Simon and Gary, of 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery, based at the Citadel, started at 7 am and finished their attempt at 7 pm, completing a total of 172 laps (400 m track) at Brickfields public running track.

Longest distance swimming in relay (open water)

The longest distance swimming in relay in open water by an unlimited team is 684.75 km (425.48 miles) and was achieved by a group of 200 swimmers at Lake Camlough, Camlough, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, between 9 to 19 September 2009. In total over 200 swimmers took part in swimming around a 750 m circuit. Gavin Brown swam the Farthest distance in one leg, completing five laps (3,750 m) in 1 hr 04 min 34 sec. The event was organised by Padraig Mallon.
