The largest serving of fried chicken weighed 1,076 kg (2,372 lb 2.72 oz) and was produced by NOAS FM (Japan) at the 4th Karaage Festival at AEON Mall Sanko in Nakatsu City, Oita, Japan, on 23 September 2011. Karaage is a Japanese fried chicken dish that uses boneless chicken and a potato starch batter. It is becoming increasingly popular in some parts of the western United States where it is colloquially referred to as ‘JFC’ (Japanese Fried Chicken).

The largest serving of salsa weighed 3102 kg (6,840 lb) and was prepared by the University of Illinois (USA) in Champaign, Urbana, Illinois, USA on 23 August 2013. Preparation for the record breaking salsa began at 4:30 am to ensure it was ready to be served to all new students at convocation, the annual induction for freshmen at the University of Illinois. All ingredients were locally sourced, aside from the lime juice, and ingredients were combined in a 1500 gallon vessel.
