Largest grab dredger bucket

The largest grab dredger bucket weighs 477 tons (1,051,604.99 lbs) and was manufactured by Mitsubishi Nagasaki Machinery MFG. CO. LTD. (Japan). It was presented and measured in Nagasaki, Japan, on 16 March 2011. The dredger is 10.057 m (32 ft 11 in) tall, 12.731 m (41 ft 9 in) wide and 5.526 m (18 ft 1 in) deep.

Largest gun mounted on a ship

The largest calibre guns ever mounted on a ship were the nine 45.7 cm (18 inch) guns installed on the Japanese battleships Yamato and Musashi. The shells weighed 1,452 kg (3,200 lb) and could be fired 43.5 km (27 miles). Yamato and Musashi were the largest battleships ever to sail. Both ships were sunk by American aircraft (in 1944 and 1945) before their massive guns could be fired in anger.

The largest hula dance involved 797 participants, in an event organised by Yokohama Hawaii Festival, at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Centre Rinko Park, Yokohama, Japan on 11 July 2009. The record attempt was part of the Yokohama Hawai’i Festival held each year in Yokohama Japan.

Largest human knot

The largest human knot was formed and successfully untangled by 31 participants and was made by the 2012 prospective employees of Asatsu-dk Inc. (Japan) at Asatsu-dk Inc., in Tokyo, Japan, on 18 November 2011. The attempt took more than one and a half hours to solve. The challenge was held during a prospective employee training program at Asatsu-dk Inc.

Largest incense stick mosaic

The largest incense stick mosaic measured 4.83 m² (52 ft²) and was achieved by Awajishi Shokokai (Japan) at Akashikaikyo National Government Park, Awaji, Hyogo, Japan, on 18 July 2010. The image created was of a character that represents Awaji Island. The hat on top of the picture represents the bridge that links the island to the mainland.

Largest kimono

The largest kimono was created by Eiko Kobayashi which was presented at the Kimononoyakata Marusan, in Fukushima, Iwaki, Japan, on 22 October 2011. The kimono was 18.36 m (60.24 ft) wide, 16.35 m (53.64 ft) high. The kimono was measured using a laser measure and was raised by a crane after the adjudication. The size of the kimono was intended to fit the robot “Gundam”. It took 15 workers one year to create the kimono.

Largest mailbox

The largest mailbox measures 68.484 m³ (2,418.49 ft³) and was created by Yamaguchi University Choshu Enjoying Science Innovation Project (Japan). It was presented and measured at Yamaguchi University in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan, on 27 December 2012. The large mailbox is a replica of a commonly used red Japanese mailbox made of iron. Largest melodica ensemble

The largest melodica ensemble consisted of 158 children from the Jyosei Elementary School (Japan) in Hikone, Shiga, Japan, on 18 November 2010 in celebration of Guinness World Records Day. The children aged between 7-9 years old played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for five minutes. Ms Kuniko Teramura conducted the ensemble.

Largest okonomiyaki

The largest okonomiyaki was made by Kamigata Okonomiyaki Takoyaki Cooperative Association, Osaka, Japan and weighed 1.6 tonnes (3,527.3 lb). The giant okonomiyaki was displayed at Nishinomaru Garden, Osaka Castle park, Osaka, Japan on 3 November 2002. An okonomiyaki is a thin, flat cake made from unsweetened batter fried with ingredients such as vegetables, meat and seafood.

Largest Online Guitar Lesson

The largest online guitar lesson featured 8,776 participants and was taught by Fumiyoshi Kamo (Japan) for Nico-Nico-Keion-Bu in Tokyo, Japan, on 2 April 2011. The lesson lasted for 60 minutes. The number of accesses at the start of the lesson was 8,776. The number gradually went up during the lesson and it got to 27,734 by the end.
