The highest unassisted martial arts kick by a female was 2.15 m (7.05 ft) and was achieved by Zara Phythian (UK) on the set of ‘Guinness World Records- CCTV’ in Beijing, China, on 8 December 2011. Zara, the previous record holder for this category, went head-to-head with a 16 year old Chinese martial artist, Ya Ruey. Both challengers achieved 2.14 m, but Ya Ruey was unable to reach 2.15 m and therefore Zara regained the record title.
